- From the CIP page: "A Cataloging in Publication record (aka CIP data) is a bibliographic record prepared by the Library of Congress for a book that has not yet been published. When the book is published, the publisher includes the CIP data on the copyright page thereby facilitating book processing for libraries and book dealers."
- need pcn
- for pcn, need a us publishing address and someone to answer editorial questions
- free
- Quoted from PCN site: "Only U.S. book publishers are eligible to participate in the PCN program. These publishers must list a U.S. place of publication on the title page or copyright page of their books and maintain an editorial office in the U.S. capable of answering substantive bibliographic questions."
Possible Solutions
- Hire an independent publishing organization to help with the publishing of the material, getting it to the right places, and having a US address
- Take care of each step, set-up a local publishing face in the USA, and handle all the transactions at least 3-6 months out from when the book needs to be released
- get more targeted in approach by donating books and/or creative works to places where the work should be represented (asian art museum, etc)
