Bio:

Jon Phillips is founder and developer of Fabricatorz LLC, a global production
company fabricating total creative and commercial projects primarily in San
Francisco, Beijing, and on the Web with clients such as Google, Mozilla,
Creative Commons, Modern Media, and F2 Gallery. With Bassel Safadi in 2010 he
co-founded Aiki Lab in Singapore, the Aiki Lab Hackserspace + Cultural Center
in Damascus and the Aiki Framework Open Source Web Software. Back in 2002 he
helped launch the open source drawing tool, Inkscape, founded the Open Clip Art
Library (2004), taught design+technology at San Francisco Art Institute, built
Creative Commons' community and business development strategies from 2005 until
2008 and is directed community for Status.Net (Identi.ca). Since 2009 in China,
he builds Qi Hardware (is Copyleft Hardware) with Wolfgang Spraul, the Laoban
Soundsystem with artist Matt Hope and with Isaac Mao and Christopher Adams he
leads the Sharism project.

08/2010 – Present   Fabricatorz, LLC, Founder and Developer.
                    A production company specializing in Free and Open Source
                    Software, Creative Commons technology, growing on-line and
                    off-line communities in San Francisco, China and the Arab
                    World. Our core focus is in developing software using Aiki
                    Framework, hardware using Qi Hardware, and community-
                    building around the philosophies of Sharism. Fabricatorz
                    client list includes Google, Mozilla, Creative Commons,
                    Modern Media, and F2 Gallery. Manage 10+ People + growing.

08/2010 – Present   Aiki Lab Pte Ltd, Co-founder and CEO.
                    Singaporean company co-founded with Bassel Safadi to build
                    the software, Aiki Framework, and provide services around
                    this free network service building application, globally.
                    Part of Joi Ito Neoteny Labs incubator in Singapore. Aiki
                    installations include Open Clip Art Library, Open Font
                    Library, Creative Commons Asia, Creative Commons Arab World,
                    and Sharism.org.

06/2010 – 12/2010   StatusNet, Inc, Community Director.
                    Grow and build international community for Identi.ca and
                    the startup's open source software for making distributed
                    messaging clients. Pushed Identi.ca over 1 million users,
                    tens of thousands of global instances of StatusNet software,
                    and successfully built outreach and growth business
                    development strategies.

01/2004 – 05/2009   Creative Commons, Community + Business Development Manager.
                    Worked with Creative Commons 50+ International
                    Affiliates, handled relations for hundreds of companies
                    including, Google, Apple, Mozilla, Disney, Microsoft and
                    other major International companies. Managed teams of
                    remotely and on-site, released and launched many
                    successful and award winning projects including 

09/2005 – 05/2006   San Francisco Art Institute, Lecturer.
                    Curriculum developer for new Design + Technology program.
