Introducing cBlends and Fashion Remixing
I hate to do this, but I had to cross-post this project I’m moonlighting on:
Deer Fang and I have been firming up some of the ideas behind the ideas of cultural blending’s first project, mixing re-used and inexpensive knock-off clothes. The old name, 50/50 Fashion didn’t quite portray the depth of the ideas and cultural welding is too large of a term to explain the ideas. Thus, cBlends is the title we decided upon which is easy to remember, uses a healthy metaphor of blending, learned from my good friend Fox’s research, and can standalone as a catchy clothing style/line.
Deer and I submitted the project to the versionfest07 and have also submitted it to Readymade magazine’s call for an issue on refashioning clothes.
