I’ve now switched to using the light and fast default Gnome web browser, Epiphany (mozilla-based). I’ve been annoyed lately at how slow and crashy firefox has been. I’m still pro-firefox, but more interested in speed browsing and a very-native GTK-based browser.
Also, check out the Viacom-powered answer to Second Life. I think that MTV and this more commercial route is going to capture the pop market and is all the more reason that Second Life should open up their client, services, and let people do as much as possible (and this will in turn help them solve security issues as well if done properly).
The third thing I wanted to say is that I started today on the wrong foot by a.) oversleeping, b.) not eating right, and c.) waking up with a slight sore throat. Anyway, not that anyone cares, I’m just taking great care of living in a good pattern right now by staying home, keeping up the health regiment in order to crank up the productivity. Strange, but myself and my gf have had this nagging cough and sore throat thing for several weeks now…hmmm…we eat and live so very well too !@#$%^&*
Jen (who doesn’t have a site!) and Eric from Creative Commons asked me to post about the upcoming CC benefit concert in NYC at the end of the month, like my blog has any pull. Here is an excerpt from the wiki page:
WIRED and Flavorpill present: Creative Commons Concert in New York, September 29 @ 9pm
If you’ll be near New York City on September 29, please join us at Irving Plaza for the Creative Commons Concert presented by WIRED and Flavorpill. The show will feature Mike Patton’s experimental pop supergroup Peeping Tom, DJ/producer Diplo, and mash-up/remix artist Girl Talk. Proceeds from ticket sales will go to Creative Commons (please note that ticket price is not tax-deductible). The concert is a part of Next Music, which kicks off WIRED NextFest, a four-day festival featuring more than 130 interactive exhibits from scientists and researchers from around the world. Tickets are $25 each (plus service charge) and are available online at Ticketmaster.
If anyone I know in NYC would like to meet up with any of the Creative Commons folks, or take a go at getting free tickets or onto some kind of list, please comment on this thread.

NOTE: If you follow this link, you are going to see some highly disturbing imagery.
I am publishing this so that people can know and see if they wish the effects of war, gunshots, etc, on the human body.
I wish George Bush, other politicians, so-called terrorists, and others who possibly wage war could see these images and consider decisions of abstract logic and how they have specific consequences.
Note, this link I found on digg.com (and boing boing) and shows facial plastic surgery of world war 2 veterans. Overall, it is a site dedicated to the triumph of science, but the images depict vicious wounds inflicted from conflicts.
Yes, conflict has outcomes. And, I also realize that the people who apply this abstract (and sometimes specific) logic to conflict could look at these images and not be effected, which is sad.
I’m growing stronger in my criticism of this administration. Especially when I see this type of ignorant banter from Bush about how “people want to come kill [my] family.” Please remove this man from office now! We are being led in the dark by someone who is a bad leader, ignorant, dishonest, and covert.
