Thomas Kinkade Versus

I have often wondered what will be remembered as the art of this time (in the future). Will it be the hybrid crossover work of motion graphics artists, designers, and creative collectives, or more populist Thomas Kinkdae art that is purchased in droves by middle class rectangle purveyors?

Also, in trying to describe my own artwork to my family and others who live in the “middle,” I realize that abstract artwork and work by the likes of Thomas Kinkade are what is considered art.

With this being said, I’m glad to see some insight into the dark side of Thomas Kinkade in the LA Times today. I especially like the anecdote about him urinating on some figure of Winnie the Pooh while exclaming, “This one’s for you, Walt.”

Cairo Canvas

I hope the Inkscape developers download and build libccc just to survey the space.

The other day the question was posed whether or not to move the GTK dependency up to 2.8 so that we get a Cairo co-dependency in Inkscape revives in me the thought of moving Inkscape to using Cairo.

Where is this at and how can we move this task along?

Art School

I’ve spent so much time in art school now. I guess so have other people, hence why this new movie is coming out.

Hot ccMixter track

ccMixter.org has a hot track that Francesca from CC pointed out. I like it!

I can’t wait for the party, i’m just gonna go and get hella hyphee.

UPDATE: Apple Hi-Fi should have been named Apple Hyphee. What a tactical error Apple made. Man!
