The first Overlap.org event went quite well. Thanks to everyone who came out! It was nice to see such a mixture of people at the event. The next major live event is coming up in April. Until then, the listen event is this coming SATURDAY in Berkeley.
Notes
- Someone has finally made a nettime email list blog that has an RSS feed! Now you can find out about all of the calls for participation and new new media projects quickly without subscribing to the main list.
- Lev’s new article about Social Data Browsing
- From Kevin Johnson comes a crazy Sony video where a director dropped thousands of bouncy balls down the street. Is this real?
- 3D Painting on rooms looks like the old “Still Life” projection paintings that Neil and Mesh.fm developed.

That painting would make me crazy…
I think those paintings are amazing! I want one now!
Regarding the bouncy balls: Boing Boing linked to a Flickr photoset of the making of the advertisement. But both my television expert friend and my 3D graphics expert friend swear the thing is faked.
Yeah, I think so too…what city would allow them to do that? How could they ever clean up that kind of littering?
Wait, here is a video of it really happening in San Francisco up on the archive.org. Whoa, looks to be real!
