Whoa, Nicu has some nice silhouette images waiting in the queue for Open Clip Art Library.
The Open Clip Art Library is going through a slight transition post-security problem and it has been about 2 months since we have done a release, which is off of our normal monthly schedule. Thus, new blood is needed in our project. This starts with me giving some blood and spending a couple of hours today contributing some time to getting upload and some other quick features online. Also, please join #openclipart on irc.freenode.net to jump in to discussing the project, what needs to be done and where things are going.
I wonder if a good strategy might be to make Friday’s Open Clip Art Library days, much like how the Tango Project does with their project. What do you all think about this?

Those silhouettes are amazingly cool. But putting my copyright hat on (and not knowing the artist), are they traced from existing images?
wtf? Is this supposed to be clipart for hookers to put on their calling cards?
Once we have a working site I can see us having a dedicated day each week for woring on OCAL: adding keywords, improving old submissions (crop, fit in page), etc. Also, i think having a dedicate day can help pushing themes, like “let’s meet friday on IRC and do XMAS clipart”
About the silhouettes, i expect them to give some food to the zealots asking for censorship, but IMO this particular set of images is innocent enough
Rob, i think the images are modified beyond the limit they can be considered derivative work anymore. I posted the link on the OCAL list one week ago with the hidden intention to collect feedback.
Robert, why not? Seriously, i expected such reaction, be happy i’m not planning to submit those
I’m not demanding censorship or anything, I just think it’s quite funny.
well, anything is more usefull than those stars
I completely agree. However, I like the attitude of the creator of those stars which helps us push the boundaries and figure out how the boundaries of OCAL.
