That doesn't mean that he should be taken seriously or that the should be given a free pass for his stupidity. NBC apparently has a clue as they blocked his statements on the West Coast feed. Saying "George Bush doesn't care about black people" is wrong and beyond ridiculous. NO is 67% black so, duh, the majority of the people suffering in the disaster in NO are going to be, drumroll, black. As for Bush ording more troops in, if I'm not mistaken, the effort has not been federalized (nor should it be IMHO) so it's up to the governor (Blanco) to ask for more troops which she has done (well before Kayne's stupid statement.) The feds have been providing resources and should be making every effort to get there quickly -- as it appears they have been doing. It's the city then county then state as far as the chain of responsibility goes.
