LWE
I went to LWE yesterday in downtown SF. The highlights are that I can get into any conference as media with SCALE association, LWE is all about business now, and I met up with Dave Schleef and Eric Anholt. We had much to talk about over beers and Korean food.
Dave and I chatted about the need to start up a journal of some sort to discuss Open Source topics more scholarly with references and so forth which are more useful than the standard Linux-rant. Rather, this could be something that Scale might be able to fulfill. The good thing about Scale is that its registered with the Library of Congress and is in need of some new content.
Is anyone else out there interested in more research-centric articles about Open Source, software and culture? I’m not saying that the submissions should be completely over the top academic, but at least be interesting to common desktop developers. I mean developers in the broadest sense of the term too btw. Time for bed…
