Happy B-day Charis!

Today would have been my sister’s 28th bday. Charis really lived too short of a life, but man, did she live a good life :) I’m reminded again how much I love my family and friends for supporting me and my family during this time.

Its strange that this coming December will be 2 years since she passed away. I can’t believe it.

Anyhow, please take a pause to think about my sister today :) I am taking a few today to think about all the goodness that lives on in the people she touched :)

Thinking about her today re-ignites the vigor in me to live more :)

Jon, I paused to think about your sister and read a little of your diary. Very touching. I’ll take friends and family less for granted as a result of your post. Regards; Gerald.

Your sister was lucky to have a brother who cared about her the way that you obviously did, and still do. For that reason alone she is blessed. She will never be far from you. Mary Beth

    Hey Jon,
I know you are too young to remember me, but my sister Julie (Smith)and Charis were best friends when they were young and I spent a lot of time with hr. I have lot of pictures of her. I used to love listening to your Dad’s (Doug) tape ad remember him singing some of those songs at a revival during or close to the summer when one of Julie and Charis’ classmates’ (Jimmy Myers) was killed by a car while riding his bike. I think they were all around 6 or 7. BTW…this was in Effingham. I was pretty good friends with your cousin Tracy and I knew your grandma, too. My Dad always wanted to get back in touch with your Dad and I looked for him on the net several years go, but I think he forgot about it by the time he got home. (I was living in Florida at the time and my parents lived in Stillwater, OK). Anyway, I moved back to Stillwater a little over 3 years ago. I didn’t know it at the time (nor did anyone else),but I spent the last year of my Dad’s life with with him. He was diagnosed with liver cancer and died 6 weeks later. Tell your parents I said hello…and tell them that one of their friends and admirers (Larry D. Smith from First Baptist Church) passed away on October 29, 2004, in good company. I like to think that maybe my dad and your sister share some infinite connection. Anyway, write me back and tell what you think.
    Warm Regards,
    Jen
