In LA

I’m in LA now. I found a cafe in Pasadena that has free wifi called Second Cup on Fair Oaks near Colorado. I’m staying at Kevin’s place. Kevin, Randall, and I went to an art show last night for a faculty from UCSD, Ernie’s show.

Shawn from KLDP and his wife had their baby! Congrats!

On the flip side, found out a friend from high school, John Rackers, passed away this week. Total bummer…

Fixed Cabbage + Scale

After much delay, Cabbage, my server at UCSD is back on-line at CRCA. Now SCALE Journal can now exist once more.

Hamsters in Good Hands

“Thank you thank you thank you!!! Jacob is so happy and excited to have his new friends! We love Buddy and Squirrel! I could see from your emotion that they have been loved and cared for very well, and I want you to rest assured that they will continue to get good love and attention in their new home. (You really can come visit them if you want!)
Thanks again,” — Steve, Joyce, and Jacob

DBUST!

Man, I upgraded to using D-bus when I did:

emerge world

Now, I can’t get my feedreader to work…On a side note, I’m getting much more work done now :) Maybe I will leave it d-busted.

I did get d-bus to work, but there are still bugs in the installation on gentoo. Time to get out the iron.

Creative Commons Development

I have helped to get the Creative Commons development channel up. Hop on irc.freenode.net channel #cc to participate!

I’m very interested in getting the Creative Commons development community up and running at full steam. Cool!

Hamsters

I found a good home for my hamsters. I hate to give them away…but I figured to give them to a kid is the best attention they could get :)

Heavier Version of Myself

Dan found picture of a guy that looks like me but heavier. Cool.

Hey, while I drove 8+ hours today I thought about how basically all vocalists sing over themselves these days heavily. Also, I started to deconstruct how all the bars of hip hop loops are put together and how singers basically sing a few good takes and then the producer just loops the parts, cuts and pastes, and so on. When you listen to music now, these processes are completely transparent, yet are so ambiently modern. Honestly, try thinking about how a popular song is constructed while listening the next time…its quite amazing…think aural user interface!
