OOo's slow development cycle is quite annoying! I think I prefer smaller applications like Inkscape which can push out more releases. Even if a patch will be provided, it probably will be integrated in the next version, be it 2.1 or 3.0 (the roadmap is not defined), which may be (as the tradition shows) 1.5-2 years away.
