Corporate Gigs

Updated May 07, 2005 @ 03:32 PDT

Hey, I wonder if other people do this as well. I find that I work many extra hours doing this contract corporate gig to make sure that the company uses open standards and open software. I even go out of my way to add on to projects that I touch lightly. I’m looking for corroboration here.

  1. You bet. I did the same when I was a contractor for Motorola, Walgreens, AT&T, and SnapOn Diagnostics. By the time I left, there was always something in their infrastructure that was using OSS. It always felt great. :)

  2. That is good. I find that ppl. seek me out because of the OSS skills and connections. I figured it was common for OSS devs. to push for this and work extra for OSS support.
