Various Pieces

I have been coming across a lot of fun links. For one, I’ve become interested in Linux gaming: Legends and openquartz.sf.net. I’ve also been checking out web calendars: icalworld and icalshare. I think both of these worlds could take a boost of adrenaline. I’m happy that evolution supports the ics format. I think it is only a matter of time before all these lovely social software sites support ical in a major way (and I know some do).

I see another project that is a diamond in the rough, much like Inkscape seemed back in the day: OpenSync and MultiSync. Now, I need more time!!! I think this project could benefit from consolidation and ways to focus the development community. I think this should start with a general lowering of barriers, and consolidation of the the two projects into the OpenSync.org domain name. MultiSync is becoming the GUI portion of the OpenSync framework, however it would be great to centralize the activity for this project, and OpenSync sounds like a great name. However, if things were centralized more behind MultiSync, that would be okay as well.

I tested DMS installation today and made several notes. It works! Now, I would like to get it moved over to the OCAL repository and then cleanup some of the directions and Makefile.PL misc. debris.
