In Seoul
Well, my grandpa is doing much better now. I have flown to Seoul, Korea to do some work for GoPets on their jabber chat system and other social software developments. Unfortunately, I couldn’t give a talk to Paul Klein’s San Francisco Art Institute class on FRIDAY because of commitments with family. He is a great guy and totally supportive!
I’m now checking out Bryce’s DMS so that I can work on that before this month’s release, which is coming up next weekend! There are so many tasks that we have been pushing back because of the necessity of DMS on our site. Through the mailing list I think we have sorted some of the problems with use of the PERL code with the primarily PHP site, so we just need to push it up hill. I updated the wiki page on DMS so that others can check it out from CVS and help sort it out quick.
I’m kind of out of it here today, but have been having many realizations about language and culture on this trip to Seoul. This is in part to attending an event at Art Center Nabi with my friend Chuck and meeting many media-arts professors and artists. I guess it takes a few trips here to actually start plugging into this scene further. I feel pretty confident now when in Korea, besides the fact that my Korean cell phone is a rock at the moment.
Oh, printing is soooo cheap here by the way! It costs around $4-5 for 1000 4-color double-sided business cards!
